I've been bringing my dogs here for a long time (around 5+ years), after other groomers either gave them weird haircuts or I was told my dog's behavior wasn't good enough anyways Dave is the best groomer out. My dogs (white-bichon x Maltese & multi black grey brown-yorkshire x chihuahua) always look and smell great when I pick them up. He is quick to respond in organising appointments, has reasonable pricing, and takes a normal amount of time for a groom (i.e. 1 hour), not 3 hours like some other places I had taken my dogs to. He can do different cuts (i.e. summer, or a bit longer-those are the ones I have tried). I like the summer cut as they last a long time however my white dog now has skin tags and so needs the slightly longer cut (1 up from summer), which looks great. Wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else, highly recommend. Dogs are always bouncy & happy afterward- must be because they know they look and smell great, as well as feel lighter from less fur! Dave is easily the best groomer in Auckland. I always got told Dusty wasn’t well behaved enough for other groomers but with Dave she’s no problem. He must be some kind of dog whisperer cos when I pick her up she’s in a great mood. Great cuts too! Please don’t ever retire Dave!!

Recently tried out Barkers Dog Grooming for the first time and would highly recommend - prompt communication, reasonable pricing and convenient location (just off SH18 - Lincoln Road exit). Picture is of my Airedale Terrier pre and post groom (I asked for a “shearing” due to summer).
By far the best dog groomer with unbeatable prices. I booked my Border Collie and Labrador x Border Collie in with David and they came back so happy and clean and just overall groomed very well. It has almost been a week since they were groomed and they still smell amazing. Highly recommend David.

What a fantastic place! I have used other pet groomers before and when collecting the dogs are grumpy and unhappy and eager to leave. Dave has a special touch as when I collected my dogs from him they were happy an excited, and they looked and smelt fantastic !!! I will be returning to barkers for every groom from now on. 5 stars! I will tell you right now, this guy is the best in the business. I brought my husky in for a grooming. I was doubtful that he would be able to do much but I underestimated him. Also for the price he is charging and the service that is provided is why he gets 5 stars. If he can groom my dog, he can groom ANY dog out there to a high, professional level with care. Awesome! I took my older dog here to get groomed and let David at Barkers Pet Grooming Auckland know that she has arthritis in her back legs, her spine and something neurological, that she couldn't walk very well. He was great with her, gentle, let her have breaks, lifted her up when she needed it. Will be taking both my dogs there from now on.

We have taken him elsewhere in the past and have had to leave him there the day due to their booking schedule. Dave at Barkers Pet Grooming Auckland has been grooming our 2 Flat Coat Retriever’s Cocoa and Ruby since starting in Onehunga, and they LOVE going to see him to have a “Spa Day” with all pampering (typical females). Ruby is no spring chicken anymore with limited mobility and Dave treats her with gentle care even down to carrying her up and down the stairs. They always come home looking gorgeous and smelling fabulous and happy.
